Are you looking for an easy handmade gift idea to make in minutes? These DIY stretchy beaded bracelets are a fun project for the whole family. You only need two different supplies and a pair of scissors…woot! Simple handmade gifts can be super fun to make and share.
Customize the bracelets to fit any style. Use bright colors, go beachy or boho…make them to match your favorite outfits.
I love the idea of making sets of 3 or more with a little handmade tag. You can use the free printable tags right here to top off your gift just right.
I started with a bundle of beads made by Hildie and Jo that I found at my local Joann’s. I’m sure you can find what you need at most craft stores. Just make sure the hole in the bead is big enough for the stretch cord you choose.
I thought it would be fun to use colored stretch cord this time. I’ve always used clear cord and I can honestly say that using the colored one didn’t make a difference. So, use what you find or have on hand.
You can find a variety of clear stretchy elastic cord on Amazon right here. {If you use my link I make a small percentage, but it does not cost you more…thanks!}
One of the awesome things about stretchy cord is that you do not need to use a needle to thread your beads.
Measure around your wrist and add a bit more for making the knot. When I make a knot I pull the two ends rather hard {it’s alright, it won’t break} and push the beads back so I can easily take both strands together and make a knot. Then I make a regular knot or two on top of that just in case.
Trim it close to the knot and you’re all set.
Use varied beads or all one color.
Create a pattern on some.
Add a few together and you have a sweet and simple handmade gift! I hope you’ll try it and top it off with one of my handmade gift tags below.
Enjoy getting crafty!
