DIY Candied Pecans

- 4 cups pecans {shelled, of course}

- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg white
- clear plastic bags – resealable!!
- brown window bags
- twine or ribbon
- Fall leaves cupcake toppers
- hole punch
- kraft paper
- scissors
You can package them up in jars or bags…whatever makes you happy. These are the ingredients and supplies I used. You can click on the supply for a direct Amazon link.
While looking for the exact cupcake toppers I have on Amazon I ran across an awesome deal for twine and fall leaves ready to go! You could write “candied pecans” right on the leaf! Check it out this package deal here!
Preheat the oven to 325 degrees and gather your ingredients in bowls. Dry ingredients in one spot and eggs and vanilla in another. Put the pecans in a large bowl.
Whisk the eggs and vanilla and add them to the pecans. Mix until the pecans are all coated. This will help the sugar and other ingredients stick…that’s a good thing!
Mix the dry ingredients. Combine everything together in the large bowl of pecans. Mix well!
Spread out the pecans as evenly as you can on a cookie sheet. Bake for 10 minutes.
Remove them from the oven and then flip them around a bit. Spread them evenly and bake for another 10 minutes.
Remove them from the oven and let them cool.
Store them in air tight containers. They should be awesome for at least 2 weeks, but the never make it that long in my house!
I packaged them in clear bags and then placed them in the window bags. This keeps them fresh and the oil from the pecans won’t stain the kraft bag and look yucky. I tried it. Not a good look!!
Fold down the top of the bag and punch two holes. Run your ribbon or twine from the back to the front.
Take a fall leaf cupcake topper and break off the stick. Punch a hole in it for decoration. Add it to the ribbon or twine. Then add a little tag from kraft paper. Top it all off with a bow.
That’s it.
These make fun fall gifts for teachers, friends, co-workers or party favors!
Have fun with this!

These look yummy! I’m allergic to pecans, alas, but I’ll make them for my family.
