Do you have a certain time of day that you set aside for a little break? I’ve always enjoyed an afternoon coffee break! It’s a great way to take a few minutes for myself to rest and rejuvenate.
Whenever I can I like to add in a little craft project. {coffee + crafts = happiness}
I have a favorite Adirondack chair in the backyard where I love to have coffee in the morning, but this time of year is so hot and humid in Florida it’s best to hang out inside during the afternoon.
I really like to sit at this table in the front of our house with two large windows. Natural light makes every craft project look good!
I have hundreds of palm trees in site and a view of the harbor. Today there are summer sailboat lessons going on which only adds to the relaxing tropical feel. I’m glad I decided I needed a break right now…ha!
I’m such a coffee fan I knew I was a perfect match for teaming up with Folgers to share their new line of flavored ground coffee. I just brewed my first pot of Folgers Simply Gourmet Natural Caramel! The house smells amazing!!!! It instantly smells like a coffeehouse. How’s that for aromatherapy?!
This new Folgers Simply Gourmet is available in Caramel, Chocolate, Cinnamon and Vanilla! It’s hard to choose just one, for sure. You can find them at your local Walmart in the coffee aisle. Easy peasy.

I decided to create a fun embroidery hoop project while I enjoy my coffee. This hexagon pattern is so easy!
I have a crafty hole punch that I used to punch a hexagon out of some wide washi tape. Then I just stuck it to the fabric and traced one wherever. It takes a couple minutes to create a pattern.
I used a colorful assortment of embroidery floss to add a pop of color. Using a backstitch I stitched along the lines switching the colors for each one. I pulled the fabric tight and trimmed the back when I finished.
It only took about 45 minutes…that works for me. I love easy projects!
This is Pepper, my helper. She watched me the whole time!
A little handmade goodness plus a cup of caramel goodness…perfect!
It will make a great handmade gift for my friend.
What would you create during a coffee and craft break? Oh, and which flavor coffee would you choose? I’m planning on Vanilla next time…yum!

Kimberly, I love your post about coffee and crafting! I love times that I can just sit down, relax with one of my many crafting projects and work on them. I never really though about having a nice cup of coffee to enjoy while working on my knitting, crocheting or even my painting! You’ve inspired me so, this afternoon it will be crocheting and coffee!
