Looking for a quick DIY project to share with all those little goblins and fairies that come knocking this Halloween? Create these fun DIY treat bags!
I’m one of those people that drools over crafty tools as I walk through the craft store. Visions of cool projects dance in my head as I wander around with a dazed look on my face. Craft stores are my Dream World, for sure.
I’ve always wanted to try a Testors® Aztek Airbrush and I finally got the chance. This is just the the first of many projects I’ve got planned for this awesome new gadget!
Since Halloween is coming I thought this project would be a great way to add a touch of crafty goodness to our candy giving this year.
Pumpkins, fall leaves, polka dots…whatever makes you happy!
Here’s a look at the easy to use Testors Aztek Airbrush, compressor, and paints… yes, it’s cool. It was also quick to learn, which was a big deal for me since I’ve never had an airbrush before.
Let’s talk about how you can make some of these treat bags for yourself.
All you need is a batch of simple drawstring bags, your favorite crafty punches {pumpkins, leaves, etc.}, paper {I used sticker paper, but you don’t have to}, masking tape, black marker for pumpkin decorating, and the Testors Aztek Airbrush and paints.
Check out this quick video for the how-to…
Step-by-Step:
- Set up your Testors Airbush following the directions in the box. Set-up is a breeze.
- Start by cutting strips of sticky paper
- Punch your design using fun crafty punches (I love the pumpkins!)
- Stick it on your drawstring bag {This is where you can also use making tape to cover any areas you don’t want painted.}
- Add paper inside to keep the paint from going through {It actually didn’t go through like I expected so you could skip this step if you want.}
- Test the spray on scrap paper at first
- Lightly spray your design
- Let it dry
- Peal off the sticky paper
- Just add little faces to your pumpkins and you’re done!
This would be a great project for a Halloween party. Set it up and let everyone choose the design for the treat bag, let them spray it and then fill it with candy for them to take home. CUTE!
Halloween projects are always a favorite. What’s not to love about dressing up funny and getting lots of candy…ha!
Have you started getting ready for Halloween yet?
I’d love to know what you’re working on!
