This is a sponsored post on behalf of Tulip, but all opinions and ideas are 100% mine.
We just moved into a new office and it’s a large space that needs lots of work to give it a creative feel that will work for us. I’ve never been one to run out to the store and pay full price for anything that I could make. When I found out about the new Tulip For Your Home line of paints and stencils I knew I could work a little crafty magic with it…without spending a ton of time and money. That works for me!
I decided to start with dressing up my desk area a bit. It needed a little something pretty, but useful. I’ll show you what I did and just how easy it was!
I started with a corkboard I’ve had stashed away for a year…or maybe more. Do you have a collection of items like that? Please tell me you do…ha! I found it for $3 once and I love the size, but I’ve been meaning to make it mine FOREVER! I also grabbed a small canvas and an beat up old tray to repurpose.
Tulip has a ton of stencils and a million {or close to it} colors of fabric paint you can use for this kind of project. You’ll find it at any of your local crafts stores or online at I Love to Create.
I love linen so I use it whenever I have the opportunity. I measured out my fabric, cut it, wrapped it around the corkboard {and canvas} and glued it. You can use any kind of glue that makes you happy.
I decided to give it a pattern. I used a small stencil and some beautiful, beautiful Tulip Soft Matte fabric paint. The little sponge bushes that I got were perfect for this project!
When you add your stencil to the fabric you can hardly see it until you lightly sponge it with your paint. It’s best to dip your sponge in paint and then dab it on your paint tray until the excess paint is off. {Yes, my paint tray is a lid off a jar.}
Peel up your stencil while the paint is still wet and move it to the next spot. The stencils were so easy to work with and they made this project come together super fast!
Here’s my random pattern. Notice the top right where I dropped the brush when I was almost done. I started to panic and then I realized it was going to have things pinned on it anyway…duh.
Here’s a look at the corkboard when I finished. I’m liking it!!!!
Then I went on to create a little sign. Stencil are fun…this is cheap entertainment for sure!
I’m so in love with my little sponge brush that I used it to make dots all over the tray…dots make me happy.
Here’s a look at what I created with just a few supplies. Tulip fabric paint and stencils make any project like this easier. Next time I’m going to try the extra large flower stencil for a few pillows.

What kind of projects have you been working on?
